Best Things To Do in Montreal on a Tuesday Night
Your local guide to Rue Mackay after dark
Tuesday is a weird day. It’s not the start of the week, but it’s not quite the middle either. You’re done with work, you want to go out, but you don’t necessarily want a full weekend-level commitment.
Luckily, if you’re looking for things to do on a Tuesday night in downtown Montreal, Rue Mackay has plenty of options: coffee, pizza, cocktails, shisha, and live comedy.
Go to Cafe Myriade
If you’re looking for a chill evening, Cafe Myriade is one of my favorite cafes. When it’s nice outside, you can sit out on the patio and have amazing espresso with a good book. It’s a small, cozy coffee shop that is always packed, but definitely worth the wait. They also have another location on the Plateau that is cozy and packed.
Check out Pizzalogie
Pizzalogie is a new artisan pizza place on Rue Mackay opened a couple of months ago. Inspired by Middle Eastern flavors and Italian culture, the pizza is made in rectangles with fresh, rich ingredients that fill you up quickly! If you’re hungry for pizza, definitely check them out.
Grab a drink at N Sur Mackay
This woman-owned and woman-managed bar does not disappoint. Voted as one of the top five bars and best cocktail spots by CultMTL readers, they serve some of the best drinks in downtown Montreal. A beloved neighborhood bar, cherished by locals, it is a go-to place for anyone interested in making connections with quality, tasty drinks. Check out their menu!
Drop by Arabica Lounge
Offering Mediterranean cuisine and shisha, Arabica Lounge is a go-to place if you want to smoke and hang out, catch up with friends, or even just enjoy traditional music. It’s considered one of the trendiest late-night shisha lounges, offering classic cocktails and traditional music.
Go to a Comedy Show
On Tuesday nights, Comedy on Mackay hosts two English stand-up comedy shows at N Sur Mackay, with performances at 8 PM and 10 PM. The shows feature curated lineups of Montreal comics, femme and guest hosts, and a welcoming downtown room that feels intimate without feeling intimidating. It’s a great option if you want to laugh, meet people, support local talent, and make your Tuesday night feel less like a Tuesday.
If you’re looking for something to do on a Tuesday night in downtown Montreal, Rue Mackay is worth checking out. Tuesday does not have to feel weird if you make a night of it. Even though the street is short and full of construction at the moment, there are still little treasures that make it worth the trip.
